About me
Yarisha Johnson is a dedicated Mathematics Education Consultant at Oakland Schools, an intermediate school district serving more than 40 public school districts and public school academies. With over two decades of hands-on experience as a middle and high school educator, administrator, and instructional coach, she partners with teachers and leaders across the region to turn equitable learning strategies into actionable classroom results.Yarisha co-leads the Tri-County Culturally Responsive Mathematics Institute—a regional collaboration between Oakland Schools, Washtenaw ISD, and Wayne RESA—focused on building humanizing, student-centered math experiences for all learners.Outside of her district work, Yarisha crafts and sells custom herbal teas at local farmers' markets, breeds live-bearing freshwater fish, gardens, travels, and enjoys spending quality time with her family.
