About me
Dr. Terrance Scott is an educator, consultant, and writer dedicated to dismantling barriers that prevent children from historically oppressed backgrounds from accessing a high-quality, joyful education. With roots in Detroit, he discovered his passion for educational equity and community development during his time at the University of Michigan, including a study abroad experience in Italy. Dr. Scott taught for six years in Nashville, TN, and earned his Master’s in Education from Lipscomb University and Doctorate in Education from Trevecca Nazarene University. Since returning to Detroit, Dr. Scott has served in various school and district leadership roles, honing his craft and carving a niche role in leadership development and school support. Today, he leverages his expertise in service of all of Wayne County, MI as a School Climate, Culture, and Equity Consultant with Wayne RESA, and nationally through his firm, Legendary Education Consulting, aiming to support educational equity initiatives and create restorative, brave spaces in schools across America.
