Theresa Franklin is a special education consultant with WRESA. She has 30+ years of experience in the field of special education working in both public and charter schools. Theresa is a life-long learner, committed to continuous improvement that promotes collaborative learning environments that drive positive student outcomes and program goals. Theresa is a proud alum of Cass Technical High School in Detroit. She attended the Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida where she obtained her Master of Science Degree in Special Education in Emotional Disturbances/Learning Disabilities with a concentration on helping incarcerated youth. Theresa continued her studies at Eastern Michigan University obtaining her Ed Specialist Degree in Special Education Administration. Outside of work, Theresa enjoys live music, theater, art exhibits, rehabbing old furniture, bowling with family and date nights with her husband.
Dawan Williams (she/her) is a passionate Special Education Consultant dedicated to advancing inclusive and equitable practices for neurodiverse learners. With experience spanning roles as a paraprofessional, resource teacher, self-contained teacher, and special education supervisor, she brings a rare, full-spectrum perspective to special education. Having worked in both affluent and urban school districts, her work is grounded in a deep understanding of systemic inequities and student needs. Dawan is deeply committed to empowering educators and creating learning environments where all students can thrive.
Before joining Wayne RESA as a special education consultant, Angie had 10 years of experience as an elementary resource teacher and 8 years as a Teacher Consultant. Those experiences enabled her to develop and implement hundreds of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), work closely with parents and general education teachers, and mentor and coach other special education providers. Angie currently provides general supervision and accountability assistance to special education departments in local school districts, supports parents of students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and participates in state monitoring activities. Her deep-rooted passion for special education and belief in the power of collaboration are evident in her work. Angie advocates for positive student outcomes, which she believes are best achieved through collective effort and partnership. Angie is also a mom, a wife, a music lover, and a roller skater.
